The carefully restored 18th-century architectural complex is an oasis full of colors and scents that allows guests to experience the places once used for the Rizzelli family’s farming activities: the oil mill, grain stores, wine cellar and ancient wine cellar.
The entrance to the masseria, as well as the Bed and Breakfast near Castro, captivates visitors with centuries-old Canada vines, capers perched on the tuffs of the walls and flower beds filled with fragrant flowers and herbs such as rosemary, sage and lavender.
Living in history
The old crank crane under the white porch, the cellar dug into the rock, the large underground cisterns in the living room and the stone tanks (piles), used for collecting oil, testify to the industrious past of the masseria.
A pleasant discovery is the swimming pool, made striking by the remains of the ancient turret, which overlooks and frames it.
In the evening, it is pleasant to be captured by the magical atmosphere of the starry sky in the relaxation area set up on the terrace.
The fragrant Italian garden, adjacent to the farmhouse and the small “Congrega” church, is the secret oasis waiting for guests to relax while strolling through its paths shaded by centuries-old cedars of Lebanon and orange and tangerine trees.
The tranquility of the village, the atmosphere of the manor garden and the 18th-century church make the manor house an ideal place to celebrate anniversaries and romantic weddings.

La Macchiola is a family farm that, respecting nature and the environment, produces extra virgin olive oil. It also offers the opportunity to enjoy sweets, cookies and jams, produced in the artisan workshop "Aldemorisco," reported by the trade magazine "Gambero Rosso," founded by one of the family members.
